Arpad George Mado

OBITUARY Arpad George Mado, 82, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by his whole family ushering him into glory with his favorite worship and Christmas songs. Born on April 21, 1943, in Petreu, Romania, to Rozalia and Gheorghe Madou, Arpad—fondly known as Arpi—was the seventh of eight children, born during the hardships of World War II. He married the love of his life Elisabeta Ghiurau on August 24, 1968. In January 1971, they immigrated to the United States with two young children and almost nothing to their name. Relying on his deep faith in God and steadfast courage, he devoted himself to building a better life for his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children and their spouses: Adriana (Liviu), Maria (Claude), William (Daniela), Lydia (Dan), and Laura (Gabriel); his grandchildren and their spouses: Sierra (Juni), Anthony (Rachelle), Jourdan (Josh), Miriam (Benji), Nathaniel (Jessica), Bianca (Cadmi), Justin, Seraphina, Celeste (Danny), Rhys, Luke, Tyler, Ava, Joshua, Isaiah, Samuel, and Selah; and his great-grandchildren: Riley, Mabel, Madeline, Noah, Anna, Katherine, Primrose, and Daisy. He is survived by his siblings Viorica and Barna, and preceded in death by Tibor, Magdalena, Juliana, Vilmos, and Zoltan. --- A Life of Faith and Strength When Arpad’s family remembers him, they recall a man of unwavering loyalty, fierce devotion to his loved ones, and an unshakable passion for Christ. Wherever he went, Arpad shared the message of Jesus, and he passed that same love for the Lord to his children and grandchildren. His faith—especially in God’s healing power—was deep and steadfast. He firmly believed in the laying on of hands and prayed boldly for the healing of others throughout his life. Arpad loved spending time in God’s creation. He enjoyed hunting, collecting knives, and all things related to survival and preparedness. After retiring from Chrysler nearly 20 years ago, he devoted his days to studying Scripture. He treasured discussing the fresh revelations the Lord showed him, especially with his beloved Lizuca. A protector at heart, he loved his family fiercely and lived with constant readiness to defend, provide and pray for them. He leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, prayer, and Scripture—one that shaped the spiritual lives of his children and grandchildren. To them, he was Toto, Dad and her beloved George.
