Daniel Avni Kapo

Daniel Avni Kapo, 51, of Warren, died on October 30, 2025, with his mother was by his side, as he passed into eternal life. Danny was born on September 5, 1974, in Warren, Michigan to Jeanne Fischer Kapo Gillette and Avni Kapo. He was baptized into the Christian faith in a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod as an infant and taught the way of salvation in Jesus. Dan graduated from Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights in 1993. Danny was fascinated by cars all his life, focusing on the work of returning damaged cars to their original beauty. He did the body work, the painting, and the detailing of the cars, treating each as if it were his very own. Danny eventually owned his own shop in Melvindale. Most recently Danny did customized work for clients in Warren. Danny loved dogs: He had many during his lifetime…especially rottweilers Angel and Sadie, and his current little micro bully, Kloe. Danny was a bit of a daredevil and enjoyed riding his bikes and motorcycles; but never got badly hurt and never hurt anyone else—he just enjoyed the adventure. On his 40th birthday, Danny went sky diving for the first time—and loved it so much! Danny is survived by his mother, Jeanne Fischer Gillette; his father, Avni Kapo; his nephew, Steven Kapo; his uncles Clint, Mike and Bob; his aunts Sharon, Jan and Vary; his cousins Brian, Michelle, Karen, Michael, and Julie; and several second cousins. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Scott…often referred to by Dan’s mom as “my son from another mother.” Also surviving is his partner these last few years, Jessica Thomas. Danny was preceded in death by his brother Steve, his grandparents Robert and Aileene Fischer, and his beloved stepfather, Michael Gillette. Visitation will be held at Mandziuk & Son Funeral Home (3801 18 Mile Road, Sterling Heights) on Sunday, November 2 from 3–8 p.m. for those who wish to pay respects. Family visitation is earlier from 2-3 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with his uncle, Rev. Robert Fischer officiating, followed by an interment service at Glen Eden Cemetery. Memorial donations in Danny’s memory may be directed to any Humane Society or animal rescue.
