Dolores Vivian Lamerato (nee Jablonski)

Age 86, died peacefully at her daughter’s house with her family holding her hand on December 4th, 2017. Born to Anna (Napela) and Edward Jablonski in Hamtramck, Michigan on October 7th, 1931. She was the youngest of two children, her brother Edward Jr. passed in 1999. Dolores was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to nurture and laugh with her family and friends. Her big, kind, giving heart was shared with all. Prior to marriage and motherhood, Dolores enjoyed her work at the Federal Reserve Bank and traveling. On May 6, 1961 Dolores married Joseph Lamerato, her loving husband of 43 years. Joseph passed away in 2004. Dolores was survived by her children Dina Faucher (Brian) in Texas, Mark Lamerato (Vicki) in Troy, and Lisa Laviolette (Gary) in Rochester Hills. She was very proud of her five grandchildren, Danielle Courtemanche (Justin), Dominick Lamerato, Bryan Faucher, Cole and Madeline Laviolette. Dolores was a true lover of animals all her life. Her parents nicknamed her “Poochie” because she would bring home pets. For most of her life she had dogs and cats. At the time of her passing, she had a shared dog companion named Opal. Dolores lived independently at Oakmont Manor Senior Community, Sterling Heights, Michigan. She enjoyed her friends and adored the staff there very much. Dolores was a strong, humorous, feisty “polish” lady. She loved to share stories and had an extraordinary memory, even to the day before she passed. She was up to current events and always remembered dates to everything. Dolores was an avid crocheter. She made tons of blankets over the years. Dolores’ favorite past time was gardening with her husband Joe, who had the nickname of “Tomato Joe.” They lived on acreage in Troy. Each year, their garden would get bigger. They would share the vegetables and fruit with family and friends. Her grandchildren would put in requests for her homemade meals. “Dancing with the Stars” was one of her favorite television shows. She enjoyed listening to music, polka dancing, and watching award shows to see what the celebrities would wear. Mystery, action packed movies were a regular for her. Another favorite was watching the Detroit Tigers. She would stay up late rooting them on. To commemorate her life there will be a private mass for immediate family only held at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck, where she got married. Following Mt.
