Gail P. Dziurman

Gail P. Dziurman passed peacefully at the age of 83 on February 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and faithful servant of God, Gail lived a life defined by stewardship, creativity, and quiet strength. Born in Detroit in 1942, Gail grew up as a single child and focused on academics. She attended the University of Detroit at just 16-years old, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education in 1962. It was there that she met her husband, Theodore “Ted” Dziurman. They were married in 1962 and built a life centered on family, friends, hard work, and devotion to their community and faith. Gail was predeceased by her beloved husband Ted and by her parents, Joseph and Stephanie, whom she cared for with unwavering commitment and tenderness in their later years. Caregiving was not simply something Gail did; it was who she was. She gave her time, care and heart freely to her parents, her husband, family and her faith. She is survived by her children Mark (Dawn), Matt (Samantha), and Julie Davis. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Morgan Brucker (Joe), Sydney Sjogren (Bret), Abigail, Owen, Robert, Zach, and Alex, and a joyful great-grandmother to Delaney Rose. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she prayed for them daily. Professionally, Gail’s life reflected both discipline and creativity. She began her career in education as a business teacher and later taught shorthand in the Royal Oak Adult Education Program for many years. She worked in administrative and marketing roles and brought excellence and precision to every position she held. She also served as a freelance editor for the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers for over a decade, combining her love of writing with her gift for organization. Her deepest work, however, was within the Church. Gail was a faithful member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, where she generously offered her creativity and time. She spent years decorating the church for liturgical seasons and celebrations, helping create a space that reflected beauty and reverence. She also edited church newspapers and worked with Good News Publications, ensuring that parish communications were thoughtful and uplifting. After the passing of her parents, Gail felt called to deepen her spiritual life and studied to become a Carmelite sister, continuing her lifelong pursuit of prayer and devotion. Ash Wednesday held special meaning for Gail throughout her life, and fittingly, she was called home during this sacred season. Her faith was not reserved for Sundays; it guided her daily decisions, shaped her relationships, and sustained her through hardship. She believed in service, in prayer, and in offering her suffering and her joy to God. Gail will be remembered for her steady presence, her thoughtful counsel, her creative touch, and her unwavering devotion to her family and her Church. Her life was a testament to quiet faithfulness and love in action. She will be remembered in state at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R Road, Troy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Major Seminary or Hospice of Michigan.
