Gene Sorice Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gene Patrick "Geno" Sorice, age 82, of Sterling Heights, passed away Aug 29, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Sorice, daughters Deborah, Sandra, Karen, Francesca, 6 grandchildren, many great grand children, loving sister Mary Frangione and brother Vincent Sorice. Gene was a native of Raritan, New Jersey and graduated from Somerville High School in 1946. He worked for the Department of Defense for 37 years and retired from federal service in 1986. Geno worked an additional 5 years as the Director of Marketing at BMY and officially retired in 1992 at the age of 63.Through out his career he traveled all over the world including the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Geno's passion was golfing and being a true NY Yankees and Giants fan. He loved Italian cooking and growing Hot Peppers. He spent his winters in Tarpon Springs, FL with his wife and enjoyed his retirement and the warm Florida weather. Geno loved his life and enjoyed drinking vino with his friends. He was loved by many and will always be remembered. Memorial visitation Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Sterling Heights Chapel of the E. J. Mandziuk & Son Funeral Directors Inc. 3801 18 Mile Rd. (NW corner of Ryan) Memorial service will be Saturday at 2 pm. Donations to American Cancer Society in Gene's Honor would be appreciated.
