George Fredal (85) born July 28, 1926 Detroit, passed into eternal life peacefully at home on August 1, 2011. Beloved husband of Joanne (Zechin) Fredal, married September 2, 1948. Beloved father of Mary Fredal and Margaret (Gerard) Voland Proud grandfather of Nicholas, Alex, and Paul Voland Brother of Steve and Francis Fredal, predeceased by Ronald and Jerome Fredal, and Therese Zawacki George was a dedicated, loving husband and father who was active in church leadership ministries. He loved people and was a gregarious friend. He graduated from Assumption College, Windsor / University of Western Ontario He served in the US Army as a Criminal Investigator until his honorable discharge in 1946. Employed by Chrysler and General Motors. A brilliant computer software designer, he developed Jorj Software, a phonetic dictionary, designed to help those with little knowledge of English or who were learning challenged. George was a gifted artist who painted and sculpted. Visitation Wednesday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm, Rosary at 7:30pm at Mandziuk Funeral Home, 3801 18 Mile Rd. Sterling Hts. Funeral Mass Thursday instate 9:30am followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:30am at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 41233 Ryan Rd., Sterling Hts.
