Gregory Syoen

Gregory Albert Syoen April 27, 1960 – January 6, 2026 Gregory Albert Syoen, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1960, and lived a life defined by devotion to his family, loyalty to friends, and a deep love for the things that brought people together. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Albert Syoen, and his brother, Tommy Syoen. He is lovingly survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela; his sons, Steve (Katie) and Kevin; his cherished grandchildren, John and Emma; his mother, Marie Syoen; and his sister, Sue Ann. Greg grew up in Beverly Hills, Michigan, and attended Birmingham Groves High School. Living so close to Woodward Avenue sparked a lifelong passion for motorcycles and muscle cars. Greg could often be found cruising Woodward with friends, enjoying the engines, the camaraderie, and the freedom of the open road. At a young age, he also became an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting with his uncle and grandfather—traditions and hobbies that stayed close to his heart throughout his life. Greg met the love of his life, Pamela, in 1984 while working at A&P Grocery Store. Their connection grew into a lasting and devoted partnership. Greg and Pam were married on January 17, 1987, and shared 39 wonderful, loving years together. In February 1989, they welcomed their first son, Steve, and in July of 1990 their second son, Kevin, was born, completing their family. Greg was a true family man, working hard so Pam could be a stay-at-home wife and mom to their two boys—something he took great pride in. In 1990, Greg and Pam built a new home in Sterling Heights, filled with love and memories. Every evening when Greg came home from work, the family gathered for a home-cooked dinner, followed by street hockey or baseball games in the dead-end. Greg shared a special bond with his boys—they were truly three best friends. He passed down his passions for hunting, fishing, and cars, along with strong family values that will live on through them. In 2019, Greg was once again overcome with love and joy when his first grandson, John, was born. When his granddaughter, Emma, arrived in 2022, Greg was elated to welcome a girl into the family, and she quickly captured a special soft spot in his heart. Gregory Albert Syoen will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man whose greatest joy was his family. He will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association in Greg’s memory.
