Jean Yvonne Plociniak

Jean Y. Plociniak (nee Ewashenko) Sterling Heights – Jeannie, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend quietly left us to be with the Lord on May 22, 2025, after gracing the world for 75 years. Jeannie was born in Detroit, Michigan and a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Cousino High School (Warren) in 1970 and worked locally in the banking and mortgage industry for over 40 years, including positions at PNC, National City and First of America Bank. Jeannie was a friend to everyone that had the good fortune to know her. She enjoyed most being with her family and friends with whom she found great joy. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and playing her numbers. Jeannie was a beautiful person who was kind, caring and had a great sense of humor. Jeannie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Daniel and Betty Lou Ewashenko; her brothers, Danny and John; sister-in-law Dana Evans; beautiful grandchildren, Sam and Micah; and many beloved relatives and furry friends. Jeannie leaves many to mourn her passing who she loved dearly, including her three sons, Jimmy and his wife, Julie, and their children, Katelyn, Micheal, Ashley, Parker and Charley; Peter and his wife, Tina, and daughters, Sarah and Samantha; Casey and his children, Brenda, Alexandria, Frankie, Lila and Daniel; her brother, Jim Evans, and his sons, Ryan and Reed; devoted cats, Lucy and Edith; and many other beloved family members and special friends too numerous to list. Jeannie would want us to celebrate her life, friendship and love, and not mourn her passing. Although she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace with much happiness and joy with God and those who are there to greet her. At Jeannie’s request, no formal funeral or calling hours will be held. A celebration of life gathering will be held on June 14th, from 1-4 p.m., at Freedom Hill Park, 15000 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights, MI 48312. In lieu of cards or flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeannie’s honor to Cat Tail Kitties Rescue at Cattailskitties.org.
