Kief Clark

Dr. Kief Clark was born in Detroit on October 14, 1954 and on April 25, 2019 he lost his battle with cancer but won God’s gift of eternal life. He was the loving and devoted husband of Kelly Ann (Borch) Clark who he loved with all his heart. Proud father of Christopher, Nicole, Jessica (Kevin) and Brooke (Cody). Adoring granddad to Kylie, Jolene, Ronin, Zoey and Kevin III who brought so much joy to his life. Loving son of Mildred Ray (Sumlin) which whom he admired for her never ending strength. Dear brother to Donna Adams and Juanita (DaShawn) Stewart who he cherished He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, brother and sister in laws, and many friends who he loved dearly. Kief also had many neighbors who he truly appreciated for lending a hand to help out in any way they could. This meant so much to him. Kief had a warrior spirit and met every challenge with a positive attitude. It didn’t matter how ill he was he never complained he was just grateful he had another day to be with family and friends. He would say “When we are given another day …we will make the best of it”. When asked how he was doing he would always reply with his signature “Alright, alright, alright”. He showed people how to just live in the moment and roll with the punches. Kief was grateful for every moment and memory he was given and instilled in everyone he met that they should do the same. Not only was he a true inspiration to many but Kief left no heart untouched. Kief was a man with a love for not just for family but for anyone who had the privilege of meeting him. To him no one was a stranger. Kief had a way of making people feel happy from the moment they met him. If he was in a room you knew it would be full of laughter. Kief never took life for granted and wanted the best for everyone. He enjoyed barbequing and throwing a great party. Kief enjoyed photography and purchasing things off of Amazon. But most of all, Kief enjoyed simply being surrounded by the people he loved and making sure they had a smile on their faces. Kief worked as an Engineer for Chrysler for over 30 years and after receiving his doctorates degree he was employed by Baker College as a Professor. He believed in higher education and always encouraged others to seek knowledge in diverse ways.
