LeRoy Chester Klicki

LeRoy C. Klicki passed away in the comfort of his home in Algonac, MI on August 6, 2023 at the age of 85, surrounded by an overwhelming amount of love. Beloved husband to the late Nancy; loving father of Denise (Robert) Zeleny, the late Kim (Steven) Grant and the late Ron (Donna Decker) Klicki. Proud and adored grandfather of Jennifer (Jim) Robertson, Kristina (Patrick) Reid, Ashley (Joseph) Stock, Stacie Grant, Alexander (Jamie) Zeleny; great-grandfather of Zachari, Audi, Max, Emberly, Isla, Charlotte and Ivey; dear brother to Gloria Motta and David Klicki. LeRoy was born on March 14, 1938 and married the love of his life just 19 years later on February 16, 1957 in Detroit, MI. LeRoy and Nancy went on to have three children, each a mere 18 months apart. There was never a dull moment, and the parenting adventure was no different. From parenting to grand-parenting to great-grandparenting, the pride LeRoy and Nancy had in their family was undeniable and palpable. LeRoy certainly had no shortage of friendships and other close family relationships along the way either. He lived for enjoying life’s moments with Nancy and those he held close, from the simple act of sitting on the couch and watching golf with them to boating through Costa Rica and the Bahamas while reeling in marlin. He was the name everyone knew at the North Channel Yacht Club, the Eagles Club, Club Capri, and the other local establishments. He could play the piano, guitar, accordion, and harmonica; he owned at least 10 boats; he could break open a coconut with an axe after turning tomato red; he loved snow birding in Florida, playing golf, and socializing in a tiki bar; and he could score himself free nautical décor by accidentally running over buoys in Lake St. Clair. He was the one that made you smile, the one that made you laugh, and the one that made you feel unequivocally fulfilled. It's no wonder that family and friends have spent so many decades blessed and spoiled by those fulfilling moments that his absence was immediately felt as he left us to join loved ones above. While they’d give anything to have just one more moment, one more hug, one more drink with this distinguished man, they know he’s making the same waves on this next journey.
