MaryBeth Komarzec

Mary Elizabeth “MaryBeth” Komarzec, 89, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, MaryBeth’s warmth and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on September 24, 1935, MaryBeth was the cherished daughter of William and Cora Daniel, and sister of William and Kathleen. A proud graduate of St. Martin High School’s class of 1953, MaryBeth built a life defined by faith, devotion, and boundless generosity. On June 20, 1959, she married Joseph Komarzec, her devoted husband of more than fifty years, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a loving home filled with music and laughter. An accomplished pianist, MaryBeth’s playing often filled the air at family gatherings and at recitals throughout the years, leaving beautiful memories for all who heard her play. Her love of life took her around the world as she traveled alongside her husband “Joe”, and often times with the family, collecting stories and friendships wherever they went. MaryBeth’s greatest joys, however, were found in her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Julie Komarzec, Greg (Kim) Komarzec, Daniel (Peggy) Komarzec, and Amy (Aaron) Ploss, as well as by her six adoring grandchildren: Elyse, Ian, Hayden, Claire, Ryan, and Leah. She was a steadfast and loving presence in their lives, preparing amazing meals for family gatherings, always ready with a listening ear, kind words and caring hugs. We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated team at Thrive Assisted Living, whose kindness and support brought comfort to our mother and family during her final years. A funeral Mass to celebrate MaryBeth’s life will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2025, at St Jane Frances De Chantal in Sterling Heights, MI. Greeting will begin at 9:30 am., immediately followed by Mass at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Michigan. MaryBeth will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
