Susamma Jacob

Susamma Jacob (Ammini), age 73, born in Kumplampoika, Pathanamthitta passed away on November 28, 2020 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Ammini, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 26, 1947 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mammen Mathew (Manaloor). She attended St. Stephens Nursing School in New Delhi at the age of 17 and worked at Safdarjung Hospital upon graduating. Afterwards, she moved to the United States at age 28 to purse her nursing career. Shortly after moving to the U.S., she married P.O. Jacob (Achenkunju) on November 29, 1976 and devoted her life to her family. Ammini was warm-hearted, adventurous, loving and generous. As much joy as she had in life, she also suffered immense loss and grief, losing her beloved son, Jaison, eight years ago. Ammini still managed to live a beautiful life in her remaining years, traveling the world with her dear husband and doting on her loving daughter, Jessy, and grandchildren. Family was everything to Ammini and she was everything to them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered for her warmth and unconditional love. Ammini is survived by her loving husband, Dr. P.O. Jacob; daughter Jessy Pathappillil, son-in-law Jobin Pathappillil, grandchildren Anjali, Xavier, and Liya; sister Kunjumol (Mary Thomas) and brother-in-law Joy (Victor Thomas); sister Sally (Rachel Mathew) and brother-in-law Rajan (Joshua Mathew); brother Thankachan (Mammen Mathew) and sister-in-law Lily Mathew; sister Allally (Elizabeth Mathew) and brother-in-law Mathews Koshy; sister-in-law Anna George and her husband Puliyel George; brother-in-law P.O. Mathews and his wife Mercy; sister-in-law Sumathi Jacob; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog, Charlie. Due to the current health crisis cemetery services will be a private event for immediate family only. Thank you for your understanding.
