Wanda Handorf

It is with profound sorrow and much love that the family of Wanda Ellen Handorf (née Presley) announce her passing on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 at the age of 84. Wanda slipped away in her sleep, opened her eyes in Glory and met her Jesus face to face. Wanda will be lovely remembered by her daughter, Deanna Handorf; grandchildren, Jeromy Lee (Elgena), Noah Bellhorn (Hope), Brooklyn Bellhorn, Jocelyn Bellhorn; great-grandchildren, Eliza and Emmanuela Lee; and countless other family members and friends whose lives were touched by her compassion and faith. She will be dearly missed by her friends at Freedom Christian Assembly of God where she was a long-standing member. Wanda was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Handorf; daughter Rhonda Lee; granddaughter Candace Lee; her parents John Claude and Ruby Presley; and her siblings, Anita Fredrick, Reba Bowman, Nell Presley and James Presley. Wanda was born December 27, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan but spent much time in Tennessee where her family resided. Summers were spent on the family farm or at the family home in Cookeville. Wanda worked as a bookkeeper for many years prior to her retirement. She and Bob loved to travel the world and did so with many of their dear friends that they considered to be family. Wanda was dedicated to her faith in God. She and Bob raised their family with strong Christian values and were examples of grace, kindness and servitude. If they were not helping out with projects in the church, they were feeding the homeless at a mission in Royal Oak or volunteering their time and financial support for missions and sharing the gospel. Visitation will be held on Friday May 30th, 2025, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, at Freedom Christian Assembly of God located at 41380 Ryan Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48314. A funeral service will commence at 10:30 AM, followed by a graveside prayer. Memorial donations may be made in Wanda’s name to Children’s Hospital of Detroit or to your local animal shelter. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the members of Freedom Christian Assembly of God for their unending prayers, to her closest friends who uplifted her spirit throughout her life journey and helped to create her most cherished memories, to all who assisted in her care, and to all those who took a moment to say a prayer for her strength during her final steps on her earthly path. Wanda will leave behind a legacy of love for all people, generosity to those in need and being a pillar of strength throughout life’s storms. Her steadfast faith will continue to inspire all those who knew her.
