Alerson Ramos Suan
September 1, 1973 - April 4, 2022
Alerson Ramos Suan, 49, died April 4, 2022 in his home in Sterling Heights, MI. Alerson was born on September 1, 1973 in Allen, Northern Samar, Philippines, the son of Pablo (deceased) and Libertad Suan. To friends and acquaintances in the US, he was known as “Al”, but to his family and childhood friends from the Philippines, he was endearingly called “Nonoy”. Aside from being a full-time accountant, Al had an immense love for tennis and volleyball. It is through these sports where he helped build and form tight-knit communities. He was an organizer for the Filipino American Sports Teams of Detroit (FAST-D), where he coordinated tennis clinics, an organizer and member of the Midwest Metro Tennis League, and an active member in various local volleyball leagues including the Beach Bottom Indoor Sand Volleyball League. Alerson was also involved in many Filipino organizations. His impact and legacy will be felt by those who were blessed to encounter such rare passion and drive. He is survived by his loving family: his mother Libertad, his brothers Abe, Andy, Alex, Wilmar, and Aldrin, his sister Maricer, and all of his nieces and nephews.
