April 3, 1928 - September 26, 2020
It didn't take much to make her happy, a phone call, a card, a visit or a kiss before saying goodnight. She lived to make our lives better and was proud of us. Iva Mildred Patrick Ping was born April 3, 1928 in Rockholds, Kentucky. She had two older siblings, Dorothy and James. Iva, or as she was called, by her middle name, Mildred, was a small town country girl. She loved the farm. Mildred went on to marry and had three children, Dottie Jean, Patsy Anne and Larry. She worked as a seamstress while raising her children and later became a certified nurses assistant. That position brought her much joy. She ended her career as a premium bag catcher for the Duro Bag Company. Mildred has 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great grandsons. Most of you know her as gram or grandma, she was very active up until the very end. She attended Pace, a senior facility, Monday through Friday, which she thought of as her job. Every morning she left us at 8:30 am with a kiss, a wave and her famous, "I hope you have a good day." On Friday September 11th, soon to be known as her last day of attendance , Millie (granddaughter) left work early for an appointment and had the pleasure of getting her from the bus for the last time. She was happy and always shared a smile letting us know. However, she tired and her body was frail, and on Saturday, September 13th she suffered a stroke during her sleep. She rested peacefully in her home until, God called her home early on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020. Grandmother God looked around his garden and found an empty space, Then he looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
