John Deng Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On November 6, 2021, our hearts were shattered by the unexpected passing of John Deng. The world lost a loving husband, caring father, supportive son and brother, loyal friend and trusted colleague on that tragic day. He is survived by his wife Lesley, children Isabelle (15), Linton (12) and Silvia (8), parents and sister Bea. He was a dependable and humble friend who was loved by many. He never gave a second thought to offering help to others. John moved to the United States with his parents and younger sister when he was 17. None of them spoke a word of English. As the eldest child of a first generation immigrant family, young John quickly became the family translator and driver, as well as the PTA parent for his little sister. He worked restaurant busboy jobs while going through high school and college. John earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Michigan, worked in NCR, Proforma/Metastorm/OpenText, iwerk, ePrize, and was a QA Manager at Shibumi before his sudden passing. When John wasn’t working on his computer, he enjoyed fishing, running and outdoor time. He was known as the best fishing buddy, avid photographer of nature, and top chef in outdoor BBQ events among family and friends. John will be missed by all, but his memory will last forever.
