January 4, 1941 - June 8, 2021
Louise (Lusia to her Polish friends and family) passed on June 8, 2021 with family by her side. She was born on January 4, 1941, and spent the majority of her childhood years in Poland. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 14 where she settled in the Detroit, Michigan area. There she joined the Polish National Alliance youth group where she eventually met her beloved husband, Antoni, and made many cherished lifelong friends. Louise was passionate about maintaining and passing along her Polish and Catholic culture and traditions, especially to her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated volunteer in both her church, and in numerous Polish organizations where she involved her children in youth programs to learn their Polish culture and language. Louise was also an avid hostess. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home, always welcoming guests with open arms, a friendly smile, and a hug. Louise was the beloved wife of the late Antoni. She was the loving mother of Teresa (David) Snyder, Barbara (Rick) Rhoads, and Renee (Mark) Ligeski. She was the dearest grandmother of Kate (Erik), Lauren, Julia (Bailey), A.J., Rachel, and Alex. She was the dear sister of John (Debbie) Jezusek and Christine (Tim) Toland. She is also survived by nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at the website: act.alz.org/donate OR in honor of Louise’s passion for passing on Polish culture and traditions to Polish American youth, please donate to the kitchen renovation project of the Polish Scouting Oganization’s Camp Bialowieza in Deckerville, Michigan. Checks can be made and mailed to: Polish Scouting Organization (4116 Lindow Drive, Sterling Heights, MI 48310). On the check memo line please write: kitchen match (a very generous benefactor is currently matching contributions having this memo).
