August 6, 1934 - January 12, 2021
Marian (Bobber) Maue was born on August 6, 1934 in Chicago IL into a large family. She passed into the arms of her savior on January 12, 2021. Marian married the love of her life, Elmer Maue on August 28, 1954 fulfilling her desire to be a wife and mother. Faith and Family were the most important things to her, and she filled the world with love and kindness, bringing smiles to all who knew her. Marian spent countless hours volunteering in her church and community. While her children were young, she was a den mother for close to 20 years, a campfire girl leader, room mother, library aide, teacher’s aide, and was active in the Mom’s Club. Her children’s friends knew they could go to her if they needed someone to lend a listening ear. The house was always filled with laughter and it was not unusual for there to be more than a dozen people around the dinner table as all were welcome. Even as her children became adults and had families of their own, everyone would gather on Sunday to share a meal and spend time together. In her church she volunteered as a religious education instructor for both those with special needs and those about to receive the sacraments, she hosted engaged couples, was a funeral lunch coordinator, and volunteered wherever help was needed. Marian was active in politics and worked at the polls for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her loving husband of over 66 years, Elmer, and her children Denis Maue (Paula), David Maue (Marlene), Kathy Williams (Steve), Daale Maue (Cathy), Duane Maue (Lori), Karla Brocker (Mike), and Deane Maue (Lora); grandchildren Dan (Emily), Becky (Scott), Angela, William, Jonathan, Kelly (Paul), Matthew, Ashley, Alexandra, Ryan, Kevin, Nicholas, Giancarlo, and Carlina; great-grandchildren Creighton, Langdon, Ellyanna, Jeffrey, Violet, Paul, Thomas (Kate), Zeb (Heather), Anthony, Alexander, Jesse, Zoey, and Noel; siblings Robert Bobber (Ruth), Joan Sherlock, and Catherine Bobber, dozens of nieces and nephews, and many others who consider her their second mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Catherine Bobber, siblings Martin Bobber, Donald Bobber, and Dolores Karnia and her grandchildren Kari, Kris, and Joey.
