Am Tran

Am Trong Tran, 88, passed away on November 9, 2018 at his home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Am Trong Tran was born on January 28, 1930 in Ha Nam, Vietnam to Dat Phan Tran and Thi Sanh Phan. He met his wife, Hong Hoa Tran, in Vientiane, Laos and was married for over 50 years. They had 11 children. In 1975, he left Laos and moved to Warren, Michigan. He worked for over 30 years as a skill trades mechanic and line supervisor for General Motors. In his spare time, he liked restoring car engines and fishing. ‘Dad was one of the friendliest and hard-working people you could ever meet, he had a huge heart and would help his family and friends without question. He loved being a part of and supporting the Catholic community. He is greatly loved and will be missed.’ His close family members included: His older sister, Minh Tam Tran (San Jose, CA) His younger brother, Quang Minh Tran (deceased) His younger brother, Hoang Thai Tran, his wife and 4 children (Houston, TX) His brother-in-law, Hai Nguyen and his son by his deceased sister, Bich Lan Thi Nguyen. (Southfield, MI) His son, Cuong Tran, his wife and 3 children (Lyon, France) His grandson(s) Philip Nguyen (Royal Oak, MI); Patrick Nguyen (Phoenix, AZ); Peter Nguyen, great-grandson (Houston, TX) by his deceased daughter, Xuan-Mai Nguyen His son, Thinh Tran, his wife and 2 children (San Diego, CA) His daughter, Mai-Anh Nguyen, her husband and 2 children (Buffalo, NY) His daughter, Ngoc Tran, her husband and son (San Mateo, CA) His daugther, Nga Tran (San Francisco, CA) His daughter, Bich Steichen-Tran, her husband and 2 children (Madison, WI) His son, Duc Tran and his wife (West Dundee, IL) His son, Thuan Tran (Sterling Heights, MI) His son, Jacob Tran, his wife and 3 children (Mt. (Vietnamese Vigil from 6:00 pm 7:00 pm) Mass of the Christian burial, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. Mr. Tran will lie instate from 11:30 am util time of Mass at St. Jane Frances de Chantal– 38750 Ryan Road, Sterling Heights, MI. Following funeral mass, the family will head to Christian Memorial Gardens 521 E Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, MI for his final resting place. Reception location to be announced.
