Carrol Lloyd Fritz

Carrol Lloyd Fritz was born the morning of June 4, 1935 in Warren Michigan; the son of Lloyd Fritz and Florence Trombley. Carrol “Buster” graduated from Warren HS with the class of 1953. He began his working life with a four year indentured apprenticeship for plumber, steam fitter and pipe fitter with Dodge Truck in 1955. Joined in marriage with Mary E Gambill August 10, 1957. In November 1961 he began working at the GM Technical Center as a member of UAW Local 160, just a mile from his birthplace (parents’ home) and the St Paul Church. He began his retired life by July 1991 and was very proud, these last few years, to have lived retired life longer than his working life. Buster was a huge fan of the internal combustion engine. He maintained several friendships based on the love of a speedy view of our world propelled with the luxury of all variety of engine driven machines. Starting with a wooden cart propelled with a small propeller engine, continuing to a Cushman scooter, then waterskiing, power boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and even a few introductory small airplane flights. This lovingly cultivated model of the modern world well prepared his children to be successful in their chosen engineering schools. In addition to all these free time sports he assured pleasant travel for his family around our state and the country in a series of fine American made sedans and pickup trucks. Lawn mowing was best accomplished with a riding lawnmower. Relaxation was watching live powerboat racing in Detroit or televised NASCAR and Indy Car racing. In the last decade, combining cars and boats he enjoyed taking his sporty car to the boat ramp and watching the old hands and rising enthusiasts while they managed and mismanaging their vehicles and vessels at the Selfridge public launch south of Anchor Bay on our beautiful Lake St Clair. Carrol “Buster” passed away the morning of September 2, 2025. He is survived in this life by his wife Mary; two sons William (Lynn) and Thomas (Beryl), four grandchildren Samantha, Andrew, Alexander (Joanna), Cassidy; seven great grandchildren Helix, Nash, Maverick, Owen, Mariah, Maxwell, Gwen.
