Catherine Mary Siop

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we remember a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed at the remarkable age of 99, having lived a full and meaningful life. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1926 to John and Josephine Marc, she was a woman of strength, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Edward, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted and loving mother to Michael, Rose, and late son-in-law Guy, and a cherished grandmother to Kristie, Carly, and Dan. Her greatest joy was being a great-grandmother to Julianna and Brookelyn, who brought endless light and happiness into her life. She was known for being a hard worker and fiercely independent, qualities that defined her strength throughout her life and inspired those around her. Loving, resilient, and determined, she approached life with grit, grace, and a quiet confidence. Affectionately known as Babcia, she created countless memories filled with warmth, humor, and togetherness. From unforgettable girls’ trips to Las Vegas—full of slot machines, buffets, and laughter—to cozy moments watching The Golden Girls, she had a special way of turning ordinary moments into treasured memories. Time spent at her home in Woodhaven—and later in Sterling Heights—remains especially dear, with days filled with love, comfort, and the feeling of being home. The many wonderful memories made there will be held forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, who deeply loved her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her playful spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Though she is no longer with us, her presence will always be felt—in shared laughter, in family traditions, and in the stories passed down through generations. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings Rose, Francis, Mary, John, and Joesph, and is lovingly survived by her dear sister Lottie. Her son Michael lovingly opened his home and devoted many years as her primary caregiver, surrounding her with constant love, kindness, and comfort. Loving memories are also shared by her daughter Rose, her late son-in-law Guy, and granddaughter Kristie, as well as her angel Carly, her husband Dan, and great-grandchildren Julianna and Brookelyn. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
