Gary DeCarlo

Gary A. DeCarlo, owner of DeCarlo’s Banquet Center in Warren, Michigan, passed away on August 9, 2024 after a very sudden decline in his health, with his family lovingly by his side. He was born on December 5, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; father, John DeCarlo; step mother, Karen Jackson; brothers, Glenn DeCarlo (Kathleen), Chas DeCarlo (Sandra), Johnnie DeCarlo (Darla), Bob Jackson (Linda), & Greg Jackson (Karen); sisters, Dee Dee DeCarlo (Charlie Weiss) & Sherri Wishaw-Wooley (Rick); brother-in-law, Tom Parenteau (Maria); sisters-in-law, Deniege London (David) & Renee Glass; children, Brandon DeLine (Marie), Jennifer Stascuk (Neil), Sheri Hissong (Greg), Brent DeLine (Dani), Devon McKernan, Blake DeCarlo (Katy), Bridgit Beals (Brandon), & Brittany DeCarlo (Jerome); grandchildren, Kayla Kretschmer (Max Stress), Kyle Kretschmer, Derek Helmlinger, Jake Juncaj, Emily DeLine, Collin Helmlinger, Cole Stascuk, Brandon DeLine, Jr., Evie & Rory DeCarlo, and Benjamin & Brooks Beals; great-grandson, Max Stress, Jr.; and numerous extended family members, friends, and associates. Preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn DeCarlo; father-in-law, Gerald Parenteau; mother-in-law, Theresa Parenteau; brothers-in-law, Jerome Parenteau, Bob Parenteau, & Michael Parenteau; and sister-in-law, Diane Parenteau. He had an unquenchable thirst for giving back to his community, belonging to The Knights of Columbus, the Order of the Alhambra, Rotary International, JW Smith Old Timers, Warren Lions Club, and the Polish Boat Club to name a few. Being fully entrenched in both the Knights of Columbus & the Order of the Alhambra, he had an immense passion for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and was instrumental in providing smiles to God’s special people. As an avid RV owner, he made wonderful memories every summer camping with his wife and friends. Gary had an entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life and had many business ventures, from running a catering truck with his dad and brother Glenn to managing a Chrysler Dealership. However, his true love has always been the banquet hall & his family. His friend and religious advisor, Fr. Paul Ballien, administered his last rites. The funeral mass will be on Friday August 16, 2024 at St. John Neumann Church | 44800 Warren Rd, Canton, MI 48187 In state at 11:00 am | Services at 11:30 am sharp | Fr. As Gary prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same – go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you
