Kathy Campbell

Kathy was the loving Wife of Neil Campbell for 45 years. The loving Mother of Neil (Lauren), and Arthur (Sarah), and beloved Grammy and Mimi to Davie, Maggie, Oliver, and Rose. Beloved Daughter of Dolores Kazmirowski Noring and the late Arthur Lawrence Kazmirowski. Loving Sister of Larry (Marcy) Kazmirowski, David Kazmirowski, and Thomas (Renee) Kazmirowski. Beloved Aunt of Stephen (Jessica) Kazmirowski, Victoria (Ben) Kazmirowski, Tommy Kazmirowski, and Erin (Trevor) Massey. Beloved Great Aunt of Brooklyn, Sienna and Kendall Kazmirowski, and Cassidy Broach. She is survived by many Cousins and Friends. Kathy was born October 28, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan, attended St. Bartholomew Grade School, and graduated from Regina High School. She met Neil while both of them were working at the same hospital. While she initially wasn’t interested in a relationship, Neil took it as a challenge and she quickly changed her mind. They were married on May 2, 1981, and eventually settled in Madison Heights, Michigan. They were blessed with two Sons. Being a Mom was one of Kathy’s greatest joys, and a role she fully embraced. She was actively involved in school activities and she and Neil were Boy Scout Troop Leaders, helping not only their Sons, but numerous others achieve their Eagle Scout designation. Nothing was more important to Kathy than her family and friends. Always thinking of others, she found great joy in doing thoughtful acts of kindness, and her family and friends were often the recipients of those acts. She also loved hosting holiday dinners as she was an excellent cook and baker, making traditional Polish dishes which she learned at the elbow of her beloved Grandma Nowak. There were times when she invited so many guests to dinner that she had to have two seatings to accommodate everyone – but she never ran out of food. If you haven’t guessed yet, Kathy’s love language was Service to Others. In addition to everything she did for her family and friends, this was also evidenced by her profession. Kathy spent 20+ years as an Ophthalmic Surgical Technician before changing tracks. While working, she enrolled in College, eventually earning her PhD from Central Michigan University and becoming a College Professor. She developed and obtained accreditation of the Ophthalmic Technician Program at Henry Ford College. She loved her Students and took great pride in seeing them achieve their certification. Kathy passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, after a year long battle with Pancreatic cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
