Tim Woodward

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Timothy Woodward, a devoted, loving husband, beloved friend, and truly one-of-a-kind soul. He was called home to be with Jesus on February 6, 2026, at the age of 68. For 13 years and 5 months, Tim shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife, Esther, who was the center of his world. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, music, companionship, and a bond built on devotion, friendship, and joy. He loved her fiercely and completely. A steady presence, a true partner, best friend, and a source of unwavering love. He showed his devotion not only through words, but through everyday acts of care, patience, and kindness. Tim was born on September 14, 1957, in Melvindale, Michigan, to Harold and Mildred Woodward. He was a devoted brother to his loving sister, Karen Dameworth. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Venetia, and his sister, Karen (Mark). He is survived by 3 children: daughters, Tara Steel, Angela Woodward (Steve), and son Tim Woodward (Kelsey), and 2 step-daughters, Melanie Berlin (Stephen) and Jessica Green (Michael). He had 4 grandchildren: Jack Steel, Aiden Steel, Brooklyn Woodward, Emerson Woodward, and 2 step-grandchildren: Grayson Green and Riley Green. He was loved and survived by his Aunt Jenny, nieces and nephews, and many other family. Tim loved God and sought to live a life that reflected God in his daily walk. His faith was reflected in the way he loved, forgave, and showed grace, and serving God brought him comfort and hope throughout his life. Having endured a lot of sorrow, sickness and pain, his favorite Bible verse was Psalm 30:5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Tim was known for his fun-loving spirit, and his unique sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leaving you smiling long after the moment passed. He had a special way of turning ordinary moments into meaningful memories. Tim's life's work included roles as Vice President of American Metal Processing Company, owning Freight Logistics Trucking for 8 years, also owning 3 restaurants: "Grilled Hotdog Stand." In later years, he worked part time for Advance Auto, enjoyed being hired for handyman work, also piano tuning. Music was one of his great joys and passion, and he listened and felt it deeply. Music was a constant presence in his life, and his strong sense of professionalism reflected his commitment to doing things well. He began playing as a teen, traveling and playing the piano and singing with various Southern Gospel groups, and was most known for 25 years with The New Generation Singers. He also had a special fascination with buses, owning 8 and enjoyed driving them and custom remodeling. He found deep peace and happiness in the Great Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a place he loved dearly. Being on vacation was the hi-light of his life. He also enjoyed going up north by the water with his wife, Esther. He proposed to her on the pier in Port Austin, Michigan. A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Saturday, February 14, at Mandziuk & Son's Funeral Home. A visitation will take place the morning of from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, with the service at 12:00PM Noon. Though our hearts ache, and his time here feels far too short, his love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him-especially in the heart of his wife, who will forever carry him with her. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus, and we find comfort in knowing that we will be reunited one day. But, until then, he will live on in our hearts and in the memories we cherish.
